Welcome!

New York 2005If you're interested in food, running, triathlon or meditation then you've come to the right place!

A little about me...

I've seen 33 summers and I love running (especially Chi Running)! I have been a vegetarian for almost a third of my life. I enjoy eating good healthy food (well, mostly healthy) and I am lucky enough to be surrounded by it through my work at The Rainbow-Silence-Heart Vegetarian Eatery in Melbourne, Australia. I am the cook there.

My other joyful pursuits include triathlon, music and meditation.

Tristan at the Sri Chinmoy Triple TriathlonEvery August I travel to New York to spend a couple of weeks with other students of Sri Chinmoy from all over the world. Our time there is filled with running, singing, theatre performances, circus acts, meditating and a whole host of other fun activities. Whilst over there I have been lucky enough to complete the New York City Marathon in 1998 and 2000 and for the past three years I have competed in the Sri Chinmoy Self-Transcendence Marathon in beautiful upstate New York.

Running has also given me the opportunity to travel to places such as Auckland and Christchurch in New Zealand, Nanjing in China, Bali in Indonesia, and all across Australia.

My best placing in a race was probably coming 15th in the 2004 Melbourne Marathon. My success there was due to very hot conditions and an extremely dehydrated field. It was a very tough race!

Recently my running has given new life by adopting a method known as Chi Running.

My triathlon achievements are not nearly as numerous but equally as satisfying; my highlight being able to complete in the last two editions of arguably Australia's toughest one day triathlon; The Sri Chinmoy Self-Transcendence Triathlon in Canberra. When I get a chance I'll write more about my experiences there. It is an amazing event

Where do I get the energy to do these endurance events? The answer is simple. Meditation! Just by focusing on my breath and stilling my mind I am able to draw upon the inner well of energy and positivity which every single person has deep within them. Being a member of the Sri Chinmoy Centre in Melbourne has enabled me to develop and perfect this wonderful skill.

As I become more adept at creating and maintaining my internet home I will add some of my favourite recipes, more running and triathlon pics, and some stories of my meditation adventures- keep your eyes peeled!
